REPLY

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): At the Abbeyfeale coursing meeting on 1 January 2001 two hares were reported killed by greyhounds and two injured. I understand that a further three hares died in the compound immediately after the meeting and that nine hares died subsequently. Post mortem results are awaited on some of these. No coursing took place on 2 January 2001.
