Hares suffer severe maulings at Limerick coursing meeting
19 November 2017
Hares suffered severe maulings at a coursing meeting in County Limerick on Sunday 19 November 2017. New shocking video evidence filmed by ICABS shows hares being terrorised, struck multiple times and mauled into the ground by the muzzled dogs.
Witnessing these appalling scenes at the Ardpatrick & Kilfinane coursing meeting, it was never clearer that the time has come for this shameful bloodsport to be finally banned in Ireland.
ICABS is again contacting Minister Heather Humphreys, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the National Parks & Wildlife Service to demand an immediate withdrawal of the 2017-18 coursing licence and an end to this activity which should have been banned decades ago. The hare - one of Ireland's most cherished creatures - should be protected, not persecuted.
URGENT ACTION ALERT
Please join us in a fresh appeal to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Irish Government to put in place a permanent ban on hare coursing.
