Dunboyne Athletics Club is being asked to cancel a pig race scheduled to take place at its sports day this weekend. The club has been told that the pigs used are likely to suffer stress as a result.

'Pigs are highly social animals and separation from their groups causes stress,' he stated. 'Potentially, any animal transportation causes problems.'
